What is Jet A-1?
Jet A-1 is a kerosene-type aviation turbine fuel that meets internationally recognised quality and performance specifications. It is the standard aviation fuel used by commercial jet aircraft worldwide, including narrow-body and wide-body passenger aircraft, freighter aircraft, business jets and other turbine-powered aviation operations.
Jet A-1 is produced to meet the requirements of internationally recognised specifications, including DEF STAN 91-091 (the UK Ministry of Defence standard) and ASTM D1655. These specifications define the physical and chemical properties that the fuel must meet to be suitable for use in aviation turbine engines.

Jet A-1 has a maximum freeze point of -47°C, making it suitable for long-haul international operations at high altitude where temperatures are extremely low.

A minimum flash point of 38°C provides an appropriate level of safety for handling, storage and fuelling operations at airports and fuel facilities.
Energy Density
Jet A-1 provides the high energy density required for efficient turbine engine operation, supporting the performance and range requirements of commercial aviation.
Thermal Stability
The fuel must demonstrate appropriate thermal stability to perform reliably under the demanding conditions of turbine engine operation.
